Patchwork Of Love Card

Hi all!  This is just a quick mother's day card that I came up with.  I really wanted to use the 8x8 G45 Home Sweet Home paper pad that my crafty friend, Cyndy, sent to me.  I thought it was perfect for the occasion!
I kept is very simple because I wanted it to look like a quilt.  I used GMD stitched rectangle dies and a GMD scalloped stitched rectangle die.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamps and I simply hand cut the banner it is on.  I added 3 homemade enamel dots with mini Glue Dots and it was done!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

GMD 25th Anniversary Card

Happy Friday!  I am back with another Gina Marie Designs creation.  This time it is a silver anniversary card.  There are some milestone anniversaries that simply need special cards and this is one of them.
I used GMD corner floral die, GMD regal doily circle and GMD nautical ocean dots on it.  The papers are from DCWV's Metallic stack and DIY Project Stack: Wedding.  I printed the word "years" in gray using the Journal Script SSi font.  The 25 was also created from that font in my SCAL software.  It measures 1" tall.
I popped the center circle up with foam tape for extra dimension and added Wink Of Stella (Clear Glitter) around the outside of the regal doily circle.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

First Communion Card

Happy Wednesday!  You know what that means....another Victorine Originals creation!  This card was made for my nephew who received his First Holy Communion this past Sunday.  Do you know how hard it is to find stamps that fit that occasion??  Victorine Originals to the rescue!
The grapes and wheat (Communion) stamp was stamped on watercolor paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink and my Hampton Art Stamp Perfect.  I then cut it out with a GMD slash stitched round square die and watercolored it with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  The colors I used were Antique Linen (wheat), Seedless Preserves (grapes), Vintage Photo (wheat tie and grape stem), Old Paper (leaf), and then I blended Salty Ocean around the outside of the die cut.
The background was DCWV 6x6 Gold Foil paper cut with GMD scalloped stitched rectangle die and the banner was from DCWV's 6x6 Brights cardstock stack.  I used Totally Kraft Trendy Twine and Nuvo Crystal Drops in black and white for embellishments.
The rest of the story is that I made a different version of this stamped panel in which I used the blue distress ink to watercolor in the entire background.  I thought I liked the one on the right better, so that is the one I gave to my nephew.  What is your opinion?  Do you prefer the one on the right or the left?
Here is a close up of the Communion stamp that I used.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

GMD Wedding Card

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I am back with another Gina Marie Designs creation.  This time I am featuring the Fleur Oval die set, which I love!  You will see it in upcoming cards on my blog as well.
The papers I used were DCWV's Meet Me In Paris stack, which were a perfect match with the fleur de lis on the dies.  The pink base was cut with a GMD stitched rectangle die.  I then cut the large oval die cut in half and adhered the pieces to the right and left edges of the pink panel.  The white ribbon down the center added contrast to the card base.
I used the small oval die cut for the sentiment.  I used Versafine Onyx Black ink and my Hampton Arts stamp perfect tool to perfectly align the Unity Stamp on the die cut.  It was popped up with foam tape.  The finishing touches were tiny dots of Bubblegum Blush Nuvo Crystal drops on the sentiment panel and a bow of the white ribbon.

If you loved this fleur oval die set, check out the other fleur sets that Gina Marie Designs carries!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

May Day Baskets

Hello all!  Today is my day to post on the SVG Attic blog and I am sharing the May Day baskets I created for my boys!
These baskets were a great use of seasonal files that had nothing to do with this occasion.  The basket file is from JGW Easter Eggstraordinary and I used the smaller basket in that kit.  I omitted the liner inside the basket so it could hold more candy.  The monogram on the front was created by using the top two layers of the SDS Nested (Layered) Alphabet.  I kept the proportions of the letters and made the shadow layer 1" tall and that was the perfect size for the front of the basket.
The final addition was a tag from JGW Made of Snow (Smooth Sledding tag) which I resized to 2.3" wide.  I cut everything using DCWV's Marquee stack.  A double bow of In The Navy Trendy Twine attached the tag to the basket.
There is one more week until May Day.  What will you create?

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

GMD Springtime Card

Hello and happy Friday!  I am back with another card that features Gina Marie Designs dies.  This time I used her gorgeous Flower Border Die.
I made the card base 5x7 since the die is 7" wide and cut it out six times using various papers from DCWV's Copper Luxury stack.  I adhered them light to dark for a gradient effect.
The stamp is a from a retired Punkin Patch stamp set.  I used Watermelon Taffy Trendy Twine and GMD Rose Garden Enamel Dots for embellishments.  I used Tim Holtz Weathered Wood Distress Ink for both the sentiment and for distressing the card edges.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Teacher Appreciation Gift Boxes and Cards

Hello all!  Today I have a teacher appreciation post filled to the brim with products from Oriental Trading.  I always love their products and fast shipping.   I decorated Bright Color Treat Boxes and filled them with educational supplies and then made cards with matching envelopes to go with the boxes using OT's craft supplies.
I started by using Crayola watercolor pencils on DCWV's Color & Create Tags.  I used aqua brushes with the pencils and I loved how they turned out!
I trimmed the tags using the scissors from the We R Memory Keepers mini tool kit.
Then I picked some patterned papers from the Rainbow Paper Pack that coordinated with the tags and the Bright Color Treat Boxes.  I also used strips of Black Cardstock to layer under the patterned papers.
Here is the orange set that I created.  On the boxes I added the papers mentioned above using double sided red-backed tape to make sure it would stay adhered well.  The tag is attached with black and white bakers twine and I used Black & White Flourish Washi Tape as well as Black/White Self Adhesive Jewels on both the box and card.  I made an coordinating envelope using more of the Rainbow Paper Pack paper and my WRMK Envelope Punch Board.
This is the purple set.  I decorated each set in a similar way.  This card uses a double layered stamp set that my crafty friend, Theresa, sent to me!

The tag on this yellow box is my favorite!  So many bright colors on it.
Last but not least, the green set.
And inside the boxes...there are Apple Shaped Sticky Notes, Star Stickers for Grading Papers, Black and White Pens, Animal Print Heart Erasers, and pencils, all from Oriental Trading.
Here is a closer look at the notecards.  They are 4.25" squares.  The white layer is Canson Montval watercolor paper.  I stamped on it with Versafine Onyx Black and Tim Holtz Distress Inks.
Once again, I used Black & White Flourish Washi Tape as well as Black/White Self Adhesive Jewels on them for embellishments.
Remember to thank the teachers in your lives!  They are so important for the future of our children.  I personally loved all of the products that I received from Oriental Trading to give to my kids' teachers and I hope they love them too.

Have a wonderfully crafty day!

The review of these products is based strictly on my opinion. Others may have a different opinion or experience with the products listed above. I was provided the samples free of charge by Oriental Trading Co. and I provided my honest opinion. No other type of compensation was received for this review.

Purple Floral Thank You Card

Hello all!  Today I have a purple floral thank you card to share with you.  I used Victorine Originals' Floral and Sayings stamp set to create it.

I started out by die cutting Gina Marie Designs stitched rectangle die from white cardstock.  I stamped the large flower with versamark at the bottom of the square, making sure only the area above the top line on the stamp was on the cardstock.  I heat embossed it using white embossing powder.  Rotate paper 180 degrees and repeat the same process using the smaller flower stamp from the Floral and Sayings stamp set.
I used Seedless Preserves Distress Ink to blend the beautiful purple color over the top of the white embossed areas.  When done blending, use a paper towel and wipe the excess ink off of the embossing.

I heat embossed the Thank You sentiment on a vellum flag, which I attached with a staple to the card front.  I popped that panel up with Scotch foam tape for dimension.  The patterned paper is from Recollections' Modern Bouquet stack.
Here is a look at the stamps that I used:

I Love You A Waffle Lot Card

Hello everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful Easter yesterday!  I sure did.  It was a beautiful day filled with lots of family and faith.
Today I am sharing a card that I created for the DCWV Stackaholic Challenge that is on DCWV's Facebook page.
I was inspired to use DCWV's Good Eats stack.  It has been a hit with EVERYONE in my family!  My boys have all been drooling over the papers in this stack and I can't blame them one bit.  It is so cool!  If you haven't seen what it looks like yet, check out my flip through video of it HERE.
For embellishments, I used Celebration Trendy Twine, Ebony Black Nuvo crystal drops, and sequins.  The yellow gingham layer was cut with Gina Marie Designs stitched rectangle die.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

GMD Butterfly Washi Tape Card

Hello everyone!  I am back with another card that uses beautiful dies from Gina Marie Designs!
This card is built around the GMD Butterfly and Vine die set.  I used solid color scrap cardstock and cut the butterflies out in the colors of the rainbow.  I mounted them and the vine die cut on a panel of white cs cut with a GMD nested scalloped stitched rectangle die.  I simply adhered the butterflies in the center with a Glue Dots stitch glue square so I could curl the wings of the butterfly up.
The background layer was a white piece of cardstock on which I added washi tape in the colors of the rainbow.  The front panel was popped up with foam tape.  The sentiment is from Jillibean Soup.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day and a Happy Easter tomorrow!

Dove Sympathy Card

Hello and happy Friday!  I seem to have been making several sympathy cards lately.  Not necessarily because  I need them all, but sometimes they just lean in that direction, so that is the sentiment I go with.  This is one of those cards!
The beautiful patterned papers, card base, and the square and bird die cuts were a gift from Ginny in the Word Art Wednesday Facebook group.  Once I layered them up, it definitely felt like a sympathy card to me.  I added a label die cut with a sentiment from Victorine Originals' Floral and Sayings stamp set and attached it with brads to the card front.
To see the other card I created with papers from Ginny, check out THIS post.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

GMD Lace Butterfly Card

Hello everyone!  Happy Thursday!  I am so excited to share that I am now a designer for Gina Marie Designs!  You have been seeing her dies on several past projects here on my blog and I totally love that her dies are so AFFORDABLE.  That was the main reason that I never dove into the manual die world, because of the cost, so when I found the Scrapbook Outlet website I was hooked.

Anyway, here is my official first card for Gina Marie Designs!
The GMD dies I used are the Lace Butterfly, Fleur Oval die set, and Stitched Rectangle die set.  The papers I used are all from DCWV and include Fairytale Dreams, Whites 6x6, and Brights Cardstock 6x6.
For embellishments, I used GMD Rose Garden enamel dots and some rumpled ribbon.  I also added some clear Wink Of Stella to the center of the butterfly for a little more sparkle!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Happy Easter Eggs Card

Hello everyone!  Today I am on the SVG Attic blog.  The Easter countdown is on!  I needed to make one more card and I decided on the Happy Easter Eggs card from the new JGW Bunny Race set.
The patterned papers I used were from DCWV's Celebration stack and the eggs were cut from DCWV's Brights Border Stack.  The bow was made out of Blue Berry Trendy Twine.
I made this card for a niece and nephew and thought they would have fun with moving the Easter eggs!  They are attached with brads and I didn't add any other adhesive behind them, so they move freely.  The front panel is popped up with foam tape for extra dimension.
Here is a look at the whole JGW Bunny Race set!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Lighthouse Happy Birthday Card

Happy Tuesday!  I have already featured a couple other nautical stamp sets from Victorine Originals on my blog HERE and HERE.

My card today features a different Nautical stamp set, from Mirkwood Designs.  I started with a card base using a sand colored cardstock from DCWV's Beach House stack and stamped the rope 2/3 of the way down the front of the card using Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I filled in the rest of the card front with other stamps from the Nautical stamp set using Antique Linen Distress Ink.
For the lighthouse panel, I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black ink on kraft cardstock and shaded all around it with more of the Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I layered that on top of more patterned paper from the Beach House stack.
The sentiment flag used a stamp from Victorine Originals' Floral & Sayings stamp set (one of my all time FAVORITES!)  The only embellishments I used were antiqued copper brads on the card.

Here is a look at the Nautical stamp set
It measures approximately 5.8" (w) x 7.8" (h)

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
