Oriental Trading Christmas Projects

Hello all!  I was able to take a little time to create projects with some of Oriental Trading's Christmas paper crafting goodies.  I really had a lot of fun playing with them.  All of my projects use the Bright Christmas Paper Pack for the patterned papers and other additional items.
This card started out with a cream A7 notecard.  I layered the patterned papers and washi tape onto the base and stamped the sentiment on as well.  I created the tree from a strip of burlap paper from DCWV's Burlap Paper stack, tied ribbons from the Christmas Printed Ribbons onto it and glued it to the paper.  The finishing touches were buttons from the Christmas Bag of Buttons and a bit of Candy Cane Trendy Twine.
My next card started with a red A7 notecard on which I layered the patterned papers.  I used the Fiskars Surecut Paper Trimmer for the papers and it cut them so well!  Once again, I added some ribbon and buttons.  The doily die is from Gina Marie Designs and the mitten stamp is from Unity.
This purse was fun to create using patterned paper and THIS tutorial.  I added gems from the 360 pc. Christmas Embellishment kit, ribbons and a stamped sentiment.
This sweet mug was cut using red cardstock and more of the patterned papers.  The svg file I used was from SVG Cut's Farmhouse Kitchen kit.  I added some buttons to embellish and filled it with hot chocolate and tied the cellophane bag with a candy cane and a ribbon.
This final card used a red A7 notecard, bright Christmas paper, the Fiskars paper trimmer, Christmas ribbon and Christmas jewels all from Oriental Trading.  The stamp was heat embossed on some vellum for a softer look.
All of these projects were fun to create and I simply love the selection of Christmas scrapbooking supplies that Oriental Trading carries.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

The review of these products is based strictly on my opinion. Others may have a different opinion or experience with the products listed above. I was provided the samples free of charge by Oriental Trading Co. and I provided my honest opinion. No other type of compensation was received for this review.

Trendy Twine ~ Barn Door Card

Hello friends!  It is my day to post on the Trendy Twine blog.  This is definitely a month where we give thanks for everything we have, and this card does exactly that!
The focal point of this card is the sign that states "So thankful for you."  That stamp is from the APB Happy Thanksgiving stamp set.  The leaves at the top of the sign and the bottom of the card are stamped from the APB Hello Fall planner stamp set.  I used Spiced Pumpkin Trendy Twine to "hang" the sign and create a full bow.
All of the papers I used on this card are from DCWV's Autumn Leaves stack.  I ran the woodgrain papers through a wood embossing folder and then distressed them with brown chalk ink.  I think it turned out looking like a great fall barn door!
Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Trendy Twine ~ Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!  The Trendy Twine Design Team has created Thanksgiving projects for you today, so stop by the Trendy Twine blog to see them all!
I created a cornucopia silverware holder!
I started with svg file from SVG Attic for the cornucopia.  Papers are from DCWV's Royal Gypsy stack.  On the tag, I stamped a sentiment from the APB Happy Thanksgiving stamp set and added a few Autumn Sequins.  Then I took Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine and Totally Chocolate Trendy Twine and twisted it with the Sizzix Twist and Style tool to give it a whole different and unique look.  Wrapping the twisted Trendy Twine around the center was the perfect finishing touch!

Countdown to Christmas Treat Bags

Hello crafty friends!  It is my day to post on the SVG Attic blog.  I created a 12 days of Christmas countdown for my boys.
I used the JGW Christmas on the Docket set from SVG Attic.  I simply enlarged the white circle and number cuts to go on the base instead of the flap.
The patterned paper that I used is from DCWV's Christmas Plaid stack.  The Christmas brads I used are from Oriental Trading.
Here are closeups of the three different designs of treat bags within the set.

I know my boys will love seeing what treats each bag holds!

Here is a look at the JGW Christmas on the Docket set.

Birthday Celebration for Janice!

Today, some of my Trendy Twine friends and I are sharing cards that we created for Janice, Lesley's mom.  Happy birthday Janice!  I hope you enjoy this card.  To see all the other cards, stop by the Trendy Twine blog.
This card was created using papers from DCWV's Garden Charm stack.  I used three different dies from Gina Marie Designs to create the layers.  Scalloped Stitched Nested Rectangle dies, Stitched Rectangle dies, and Lacey Doily dies.  If you haven't checked out her dies yet, you NEED to!  They are super cheap and cut just as well as the expensive ones.  I am in love with them :)
Of course, I had to use Grape Fizz Trendy Twine, which matched the papers perfectly!  The sentiment is from APB Smile stamp set.  Three purple sequins finished off the front.
I also decorated the inside with more paper from the same stack and a different sentiment from APB Smile stamp set.

DCWV/Eileen Hull Winter Wonderland Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends!   This Month DCWV & Eileen Hull Designs are bringing you a month filled with inspiration in our Winter Wonderland Blog Hop!  Every Friday, the DCWV blog will have projects for you and Eileen Hull's DT also does on Tuesdays.
Here is what I created to inspire you this Friday...an adorable snowman canister!
I used the following stacks from DCWV to create it: Cranberry Christmas, Royal Gypsy (available at Michaels), and Jewel Toned Textured cardstock.  I used a file from SVG Attic's Winter Friends Canister set.
I used Holiday Lights and Holiday Frights twine from Blue Moon Beads (3 red strands and 2 gray strands, each 6 feet long) and Eileen Hull's Twist and Style tool to create his sweet scarf.  Here is the online store it’s sold in, and here is a video tutorial on how to use the Twist and Style.  It is a great tool to give wire or twine a whole different look for your projects!
Here is a closeup of the heart and mitten.  Those white dots are Nuvo Crystal Drops.  They look just like enamel dots and added the perfect finishing touch.
Make sure to stop by the DCWV blog today to see what the rest of the team has to inspire you!

Do you want a closer look at the stacks I used on my projects?  Here are flip through videos for you!

Trendy Twine ~ Happy Birthday Lesley!

Today my fellow Trendy Twine DT sisters and I are surprising Lesley with birthday cards that we created for her. Happy Birthday Lesley!! Stop by the Trendy Twine blog to see ALL of the cards we made for her.
I went with a Mickey and Minnie theme for her card.  The papers are from EK Success's Mickey & Friends stack. I added a cupcake shaker on it.  That file is from The Cutting Cafe.  The bow on top is from the SU! Bow Builder punch.
Of course, it wouldn't be a card for Lesley without some Trendy Twine!  I used Celebration TT and it was a perfect match.
The sentiment is from the APB Smile stamp set.  That is my absolute favorite go-to stamp set!
And yes, I even decorated the inside with more of those fun papers and sentiments from the APB Smile stamp set.

Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

DCWV Thanksgiving Gift Box

Hello all! Beth from the DCWV Social Media Design Team here.  Thanksgiving will be here in a little over a week.  Are you going to someone else's house for the holiday or are you having a gathering at your house?  My project today would be perfect for presenting a hostess gift!
This gift box uses the DCWV Embossed White stack (available at Joann's and Hobby Lobby).  I will have the directions to create it below.
I decorated the top with the DCWV Pumpkins DIY Project Stack.  That bow?  It simply four of the pumpkin wedges with their ends placed together with a brad holding them in place!  All of the leaves were from that stack as well.  The tag is from the DCWV/Lia Griffith Tags & Labels set.  I used Blue Moon Beads twine to attach the tag to the box.
Ready for those box instructions?  Here they are!
To create the base:
1.  Use 12"x12" Embossed White cardstock and score at 2-1/2" and 9-1/2".  Rotate paper 90 degrees and score at the same measurements again.
2.  Fold on score lines.  Clip at 2 score lines on opposite sides of the paper (see picture below).
3.  Flip paper so the right side is up.  Add a strong adhesive to the four corners.  Fold the corners inside and adhere them to create the square base.
To create the top of the box, start with a piece of Embossed White cardstock that is 11-5/8"x11-5/8".  Score at 2-1/4" and 9-3/8", rotate 90 degrees and score at the same measurements again.  Follow the rest of the instructions for the bottom from that point forward.

Wouldn't this be a great box to use as Christmas wrapping as well?  What would you add to the top as your special touch?

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
