Combat Boot Card

Good morning!   I really love the new set that SVG attic has recently released.  It is called  My Hero.  Today I am sharing the combat boot card from that set with you.
To make this card, I used several different shades of brown cardstock.  The tag was made with a metallic silver cardstock and it is popped up with thin foam tape.  It is attached with Stars and Stripes Trendy Twine.

Instead of using the laces that were included with the file, I used Totally Kraft Trendy Twine to give the appearance of real shoelaces.  I also inked around the edges of the cuts with brown chalk ink to give extra dimension.
This boot could easily be created to look like a hiking boot or a construction boot.  I can't wait to see all of the different versions of it that will pop up!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Sewing Tag Card

Today I am sharing in detail the sewing tag card that I briefly shared in THIS blog post.  I created it using a file from SnapDragon Snippets.  I did alter it a bit by welding two of the background shapes together to make a card that opens.  Isn't it gorgeous?
I used paper from DCWV's Heirloom Stack, solid cardstock from here and herewooden buttons,  sewing stampswashi tape, and adhesive dots from Oriental Trading.
For the spool of thread, I used Chocolate Cupcake Trendy Twine, an artist safety pin, and a sewing charm.
The rumpled ribbon at the top is from Lovebug Creations.  I also inked around the edges of the tag with brown chalk ink.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Stars and Stripes Home Decor

Today is a day that we remember all of those who have fought to give us all the freedoms that we have.  So often we take them for granted.  Today is a great reminder to be thankful for that.  The project I have for you today is very patriotic to honor Memorial Day!
The star is cut from SVG Attic's Uncle Sam's Party kit.  I used The Paper Studio's Vintage Nation paper for it.  I added burlap in the middle of the star.
I went around the top edge of the star with Stars and Stripes Trendy Twine.  Then I added a bow at the top with Totally Kraft and Stars and Stripes Trendy Twines.
The God Bless America and star flourish were cut from SVG Attic's American Eagle Wreath kit.  I added some berry garland at the bottom of the star as well for a little something extra.
This is a view of the stars and stripes along the entire outside of the star.
Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Sewing Machine Box

Today I am sharing in detail the sewing machine box that I briefly shared in THIS blog post. The cutting file I used is from The Cutting Cafe.
I used paper from DCWV's Heirloom Stack, solid cardstock from herewooden buttonssewing tape measure washi tape and adhesive dots all from Oriental Trading.
Holly Berry Trendy Twine matched the patterned papers so well that I used it for the "thread" and as a bow on the button.  I also added some rhinestones for a little more visual interest.  The base of the sewing machine has a pull out box that you can fill with goodies or sewing notions.  I used brown chalk ink around the edges of the die cuts as well.

OWH Blog Hop~Pincushion Birthday Card

Operation Write Home, a charity that has supported heroes with handmade cards since 2007, will be closing later this year. All cards need to be sent in by August 1st, so I’m helping to get the word out!
The theme this year, is to create a card with red, white and blue in it.  I chose traditional red, off white and turquoise blue for mine :)  The stamps, washi tape, twine and thin foam tape I used are all from Oriental Trading.  I used watercolors to color the pincushion.
The three skittles in the top left corner are from DoubleClick Connections.  I also stamped the inside of the card, which I don't normally do for OWH cards, but I can always add another panel of paper on the opposite side of the inside to write on.
Now, head back to the main page for the rest of the blog hop.  Just click on the picture below to take you there.
And remember, send all of your cards in to OWH before August 1st!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Sew Crafty Sign

Today I am describing this project in detail that was shared in yesterday's post.  I am totally loving this sign.  In fact, I have wanted to make it for a long time and am glad I finally took the time to do so.  The file I used for it is from SVG Cut's Sew Crafty kit.
I used paper from DCWV's Heirloom Stack, solid cardstock from here and here, wooden buttons, and adhesive dots all from Oriental Trading.  The frame is embossed with a wood embossing folder.
I used some yummy Lemon Tart Trendy Twine to cross stitch in the top right corner and wrap around the spool of thread.  On the dress form, I added some tulle and white satin ribbon to dress it up.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Sew Crafty Projects

As many of you know, I am crazy about anything sewing related!  I started sewing when I was in kindergarten and have stuck with it ever since.  I love the way papercrafting can encompass the sewing world too.  Here are projects that have that theme.  The majority of the products used on them are from Oriental Trading.
First off, I created this lovely sign. Who wouldn't want this hanging in their craft room? The file I used for it is from SVG Cut's Sew Crafty kit. I used paper from DCWV's Heirloom Stack, solid cardstock from here and here, wooden buttons, white satin ribbon and adhesive dots all from Oriental Trading.
My next project is a very vintage card.   I used paper from DCWV's Heirloom Stack, solid cardstock from herewooden buttonssewing stamps, artist safety pins, sewing charms, thin foam tape and  adhesive dots from Oriental Trading.
Next up is a sewing machine gift box!  The cutting file I used is from The Cutting Cafe.  I used paper from DCWV's Heirloom Stack, solid cardstock from here, wooden buttons, sewing washi tape and adhesive dots all from Oriental Trading.
For the pincushion card, I used solid cardstock from here and here, black baker's twinesewing stampssewing washi tapethin foam tape and adhesive dots from Oriental Trading.
Last, but definitely not least, I created this tag shaped card using a file from SnapDragon Snippets.  I used paper from DCWV's Heirloom Stack, solid cardstock from here and herewooden buttonssewing stampsartist safety pinssewing charms, and adhesive dots from Oriental Trading.
All of the products that I used from Oriental Trading Company to make this project were wonderful! I would recommend any and all of them to you.  They really have some amazing sewing themed supplies, as you can see.  I also used round storage bottles from them to store the extra wooden buttons.

For more details on these projects, check out these blog posts:

The review of these products is based strictly on my opinion. Others may have a different opinion or experience with the products listed above. I was provided the samples free of charge by Oriental Trading Co. and I provided my honest opinion. No other type of compensation was received for this review.

School Bus Box

Hello all!  Today I am sharing a project that I created using SVG Attic's Gearing Up 4 School set.
I made the school bus box to give to my boys' bus driver.  He is so awesome with the kids and deserves a treat once in a while :)  The number of their bus is 02 and that is why I added it to the sides of the bus.  I also cut out an octagon for a stop sign.
It opens up to holds treats inside.  Believe it or not, there is a whole bag of fun size candy bars in there!
Here is a close up front view...
And the back.  I lightly used tan chalk ink on the edges to add a bit more dimension.

Vintage Dad Card

Yesterday I decided to make a card from the sketch on the DCWV blog.  I used their Industrial Chic stack for this card and it all just fell into place!
There is foam tape behind a couple of the layers for extra dimension.  I added homemade enamel dots and buttons for embellishments.  The twine on the tag is Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Fishing Card for Dad

Good morning!  Today is my day to post on the Trendy Twine Blog and I am sharing a masculine themed card featuring the super versatile Krazy for Kraft Trendy Twine.  It is on a great sale this month!
The Krazy for Kraft Trendy Twine was absolutely perfect for the fishing line on my card.  The fishing pole and fish were cutting files by Hero Arts from the Silhouette store.  The patterned papers are from the Lakeside paper stack by Pebbles.
I made the card look like a river bank scene.  I cut the grass by hand, and for the water I just tore strips of paper and distressed it a bit.

Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:
