Spool of Thread Cards

Hello crafty friends!  Today I am sharing these super fun cards I made that look like spools of thread.  I found the tutorial for these from HERE.  They are created using the envelope punch board by We R Memory Keepers.  They are 3" square notecards.
I purchased a matstack of paper from Hobby Lobby called Kirby Teesdale Studio and it had these beautiful papers in it.  The first card I didn't stamp a sentiment on.  I added Chocolate Cupcake Trendy Twine, a sewing machine charm, pins (from my pincushion LOL!) and liquid pearl dots in two corners.
Card #2 had paper that was really elegant and rustic.  I used Tickled Pink Trendy Twine on this one, a thimble charm and the stamped sentiment was embossed in white.
Card #3 is my favorite!  I am such a pink girl :)  I stamped a sentiment on the top since the paper was less busy there.  Then I added Krazy For Kraft Trendy Twine, a scissors charm and three Terra Cotta Skittles at the bottom.

Religious Cards

Today I am posting two different cards, but they are both very similar.  They are both for religious occasions and use the chalice and host files from SVG Attic's Communion of Faith kit.

The first card was created as an invitation for my son's First Communion.  Actually I made 10 of these cards!  It was so worth it though.  They were elegant and everyone loved them.
I embossed the cup and the base of the chalice and used foam tape under different pieces for added dimension.  I added Krazy for Kraft and Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twines along the left side.  The patterned papers I used were open stock papers from Hobby Lobby.  LOVE their religious selection of papers!

On to card #2.  This one could be used for many religious occasions.  I used the same die cuts as in the first card, but I also added the Flourished Cross in the background.
I added Chocolate Truffle twine around the base and added a small stamped tag.  I used brown chalk ink around the edges of the die cuts.
The layers were once again popped up with foam tape.  The patterned papers are from Hobby Lobby.

Shaped Husker Football Card

I wanted to share this card that I created recently.  I saw something similar on Pinterest and decided to create the SVG files myself for this card!
I embossed the front layer of the card to make it look like a real football.  I love dry embossing because it adds so much extra visual interest to anything you are embossing! I also used brown chalk ink around that layer to add a distressed look to it.  The Husker logo I also created in my SCAL software.  Both the "leather" layer and the logo are popped up with thin foam tape.  I used white satin ribbon to give the appearance of the football laces.
This is the inside of the card.  It can be used for either a birthday, Father's Day or many other occasions!  Since I live in Nebraska, I am sure many of my family members would be happy to receive this card :)

Suit First Communion Card

This last week has been a whirlwind preparing for my oldest son's First Holy Communion that took place on Sunday.  This is the card I created for him.
This suit card is from SVG Attic's Communion of Faith set.  It is such an amazing set and I will use it A LOT!  The stamps on the inside of the card are from the Verve Stamps set Faith Medley.
And here is a picture of the First Communicant, himself!  He loved the card and was so happy with his special day!

Teachers' Apple Treat Boxes

Where we live, the school year will be over in one month.  Yikes!  I am planning for teacher appreciation gifts right now, so I am not scrambling at the last minute trying to figure something out to give them. (FYI- Teacher Appreciation week is May 4-8 this year.)
When I came across these sweet apple treat boxes, I knew they would be perfect!  They are from SVG Attic's Gearing Up 4 School set.  I stuffed them with candy, because after teaching small children all day, I am sure teachers appreciate a little chocolate break now and then :)
I made the boxes in different colors and used DCWV's Grade School stack for the patterned paper.
I added fun buttons and twine on the top and they were finished!  I can add a tag with the teacher's name on them if I decide to.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Paper Rose Corsage with Box

Hello friends!  I am back again today to post on the Trendy Twine blog and I had SO much fun creating the project I am sharing with you!  The DT were sent these super fun Clear Take Out Boxes and my imagination ran wild :)
I started out by shaping that beautiful newsprint rose that is from DCWV's Paper Roses die cut stack. I was really happy with how it turned out. The small pink roses were made from metal dies.
Around the base of the Clear Take Out Box I wrapped brown linen ribbon and Tickled Pink Trendy Twine, then made a bow with the twine.  I think that color of twine is so gorgeous!  It is the perfect shade of light pink...my favorite color!
To dress up the top of the box, I added more of the Tickled Pink Trendy Twine, a metal charm and a stamped tag.  Of course, the corsage can be used, but I think it is so pretty in the box that it can definitely be used as a piece of home decor as well!  Don't you agree?

Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Apron Card with Trendy Twine

With mother's day only a month away, it is time to start thinking about projects for that occasion!
My project today for the Trendy Twine Blog is an apron card using a file from My Scrap Chick.  Of course I used lots of the beautiful Tickled Pink Trendy Twine on it!
The bow on the heart, the waistband and the tie around the neck were all made with the Tickled Pink Trendy Twine.  I also added faux stitching around the apron to make it look like a real apron.  The paper I used was from Authentique's Sweetness 6x6 paper pad.

Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Happy Bird-Day Card!

Right now, there is a Punny challenge going on at DoubleClick Connections.  I rarely create cards that have that theme, so I had to reach out of my comfort zone a bit and just go for it!  Here is the result...
Trendy Twine and Paper Smooches stamps
I used a stamp set from Paper Smooches called Birthday Buddies.  This card is also created with NO patterned paper and is CAS in style, also two things that I rarely do LOL!  I colored that fun bird with markers, added glossy accents to his eyes and beak, then added a few sequins.
Trendy Twine and Paper Smooches stamps
I wrapped Celebration Trendy Twine around the front panel and tied it in a bow, then popped that panel up with foam tape.  A girl has to have a little dimension to her projects, right?
Trendy Twine
All in all, I am very happy with how it turned out and I think it will be great for one of my son's friends who has a birthday coming up.

Happy Easter with Trendy Twine!

Happy Easter!
Easter card with bunnies

Sorry if you stopped by earlier and I didn't have the info available on this card!  I seriously apologize!  What a busy week and weekend.  Anyway, the card was created using files from SVG Attic's Cottontail Bunny kit.

For the sweet bows on the bunnies, I used Watermelon Taffy Trendy Twine, which has a twist of pink, white and lime, making it perfect for this card!

Here are the products I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Simple Easter Wishes

The card I am sharing today is a simple one.  I have a hard time keeping things simple, but I did this time :)  The card base is a patterned one from DCWV.  I thought it would go well with an Easter theme.  That is where I pulled inspiration from for this whole card.
The egg stamp is one that I bought second hand several years ago :)  I colored it with pencils using colors from the card base.  The ribbon below the egg is crinkled seam binding.  It matched the green polka dots perfectly.

Fancy Easter Egg Card

Good Friday is upon us!  I hope all of your Easter preparations are going smoothly.  This card is one that I made multiples of to give to family members.
The egg cut file is altered from a Silhouette Design Store file.  I used silver vinyl for the decorative part of the egg.  It is already adhesive, so it works perfectly for intricate cuts!  I popped the egg layers up with foam tape, added the white ribbon and sentiment, then finished it off with liquid pearl dots in two corners.

Bunny Easter Treat Box

Today I am sharing a sweet Easter box that is just perfect for giving goodies!  I think this one is going to my two little nieces.  An auntie has to spoil, right?
The SVG file for this box is from SVG Attic's Cottontail Bunny set.  I used tan and brown chalk ink around the die cuts and popped the bunny up with thin foam tape.
The pretty little bow on the bunny is made from Trendy Twine's Chocolate Cupcake twine.  The two large wooden buttons are from Oriental Trading.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Here is a super adorable shaped Easter card that I recently made.  I think that white bunny is so sweet!
The SVG file for this card is from SVG Attic's Cottontail Bunny set.  I used tan chalk ink around the die cuts and popped the bunny up with thin foam tape.  The eye is a homemade enamel dot and the gorgeous wooden button on the bow is from Oriental Trading.
